Abrar's roommate Mizanur Rahman was arrested

DB police have arrested his roommate Mizanur Rahman in connection with the murder of Bangladesh Engineering University (BUET) student Abrar Fahad.

DB police picked him up from room 5 of the Sher-e-Bangla Hall in BUET around 12:30 pm on Thursday.

She was arrested by Sher-e-Bangla Hall messenger Abdul Quader.

The arrest of Abram's roommate came after the arrest of Amit Saha, a Chhatra League leader who was involved in the murder of Abar's Fahad from Sabujbagh in Dhaka this morning.

Eyewitness Abdul Kader confirmed to the media that DB police took Mizan around 12:30 pm.
He was arrested at Mizanur Rahman University, a student of the Department of Water Research and Engineering.

He added that room 1 was closed one day after the body was found recovered by Abrar. After that, the rest of Abrar's roommates started living there.

He did not receive a call to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Media and Public Relations Department to confirm the incident.

Meanwhile, Chhatra League leader Amit Saha is being taken to the DB office for preliminary interrogation. Later, it was reported that he would be arrested in this case if he was found to be involved in the murder.

On Sunday (October 8), the general student and university authorities of BUET rescued Fahad from the second floor of the Sher-e-Bangla Hall and took him to Dhaka Medical College (Damek) Hospital.

He was pronounced dead on Monday (October 8) at around 8:30 am.

Abarra's father Barkat Ullah filed a murder case at Chawkbazar police station on Monday evening, accusing seven people of murder. Police have arrested a total of five including the general secretary of the branch BCL.


Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury has granted five days remand for the arrest of Abara.
